Hindi Translation
यह आरती उज्जैन के महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग — भगवान शिव के महाकाल स्वरूप — की स्तुति करती है। भस्म लगाकर, सर्पों का सींगार सजाकर विराजमान महाकाल को काल (मृत्यु) का भी काल कहा गया है, जो भक्तों के सभी दुख हरने वाले हैं।
English Translation
This aarti glorifies Mahakaleshwar of Ujjain — Lord Shiva’s fierce, time-transcending form as Mahakal, “the great lord of time/death.” Adorned with serpents and ash, and famous for the pre-dawn Bhasma Aarti at his Ujjain jyotirlinga temple, he is described as the destroyer of death itself who removes every sorrow of his devotees.
Significance
How to Chant?
Offer bel patra and water to the Shivling, light a diya, and sing the aarti while circling the lamp; at Ujjain the temple’s own Bhasma Aarti ritual uses sacred ash instead of the usual lamp.

Once during daily puja; devotees visiting Ujjain often attend the early-morning Bhasma Aarti specifically for this form of Shiva.
